Mouse hole in weeping brick

People often ask us while we’re out on mouse control jobs if mice really get into those little weeping bricks in their walls.

Well the answer is yes and so we’ve decided to put together a video showing you exactly how they do get in and what to look out for if they have.

You’ll See Black Marks Around The Entry Point

One of the first signs of a mouse hole will be dark greasy type of markings  around the entry point of the hole in the weeping brick. These dark marks are like resin coming off of the mice as they enter and exit your home.

When performing mouse control services, these markings are one of the signs we look for when it comes to possible infestations.

So to prove our point, in this video you’ll see that we’ve evicted all the mice, and after removing the one-way exit door (a door that allows the wildlife to safely leave the premises alive and free but not get back in) you can see plenty of mice droppings scattered about the entry/exit area. Seeing the droppings tells us that the mice have actually come out.

In this case, the homeowner hasn’t heard one peep from any wildlife since we did our job. This is what we consider another mouse eviction from the weeping bricks in their home.

Watch the video below to see the example:

So What Do I Do If Mice Have Gained Entry?

Well the first thing you should do is give us a call. Of course you can try to evict them yourself but you could end up accidentally hurting them or causing more damage to your home. Our inspection will ensure they are safely removed, that the area they used to gain entry is completely blocked off from future intrusions and we’ll make sure there are no other entry points for the mice to get into.
