Example of large greasy mouse hole in Mount Pleasant homeWhen it comes to mice and rat problems in the home, we can’t stress enough how necessary prevention is. No one can deny that the result of gaining control of your mice problems need to be permanent but if you’re not using the right prevention measures you can expect to see them return time and again.

So what you say? There’s nothing wrong with a few mice running around right? Maybe in a mechanic’s shop a few scattering mice are OK, but not in a home. Rats and mice carry disease and when left unchecked, they wreak havoc on a home and put families at risk of acquiring health issues, just to say the least.

So what happened during this rat control job at Mount Pleasant? Well Mount Pleasant is pretty much a rural area rich with all forms of wildlife and because of that fact, seeing a few mice and rats around your home usually doesn’t set off any alarms.

In cases like this, it’s natural for some complacency to set in over time and if it does, before you know it you’ve got an infestation that’s totally out of control, and usually a destroyed home to go along with it.

These indisputable facts and the many customer testimonials we’ve received over the years clearly point to why animal control for rats and mice is so important to take care of before an infestation occurs.

Watch the video below where I show you graphic examples of how this rat problem got from bad to worse.

For those who want to read rather than watch the video, we came to what we thought was going to be a small mouse control job but found that a previous inspection was done but wasn’t done completely and the result was that they in fact had a rat infestation. During our inspection we also found a large hole chewed out in the drywall at the door-step of the internal garage door; and further along the back wall after removing a large shelf we found several other rather large rat holes.

Large mouse hole behind wallsAll along the path from the initial hole by the door to the holes behind the shelf we found a slew of rat and mice droppings and food they had pillaged from the home, but what was worse was the ripped out drywall and insulation they scattered about which was an obvious sign of serious damage.

This kind of damage pointed to a long-term mouse infestation; to the point where the home owners started hearing a lot of sounds coming from their attic and walls. For those who aren’t quite sure if they’ve got an infestation, I refer you to my previous article were I give you the top signs you have mice in your home and what you should do about it (link: https://www.allwildlife.ca/pest-control/the-top-10-signs-you-have-mice-living-in-your-home/).

If you suspect you have mice and rat problems that article will let you know what to look out for so you can nip the problem in the bud before it gets worse.

So luckily this homeowner decided to give us a call because we were able to wrap this problem up properly and made sure they were pest free just in time for the winter.
