When you have a wild or stray animal in your yard, garage, shed, or house, you might be so concerned to get it out of there that you make the first call that comes to mind. But is it the right call?

When to Call the Humane Society or SPCA
You go outside and find a domestic animal in your yard. It has a collar, and probably seems friendly enough. These organizations will send someone to pick up the animal, or request that you bring it in to the shelter. In some cases, the Humane Society or SPCA will also help when it comes to wildlife, but only if the animal is sick or injured.
